Well, I'm just interested in your opinion on the topic.
So, feel free to post whatever you think about it.

I'm in support of the war. One of the reasons why is that if we don't, and just give in, it'll be somewhat similar to WWII where we gave in to hitler just to keep peace. He's going to keep defying the UN, building weapons, killing people until we do something about it. _________________ my blog |

I agree on the thing with Hitler.
But Bush won't be any better if he attacks Iraq without the consent of the United Nations.
They're the only one to decide about war.
And Bush looks as if he would only want to fight because of the oil. (At least, he doesn't care about North Corea, does he? And they're much closer to have abc-weapons. But he so totally doesn't care.)
Plus the administration of his father tolod the world they would have bombed Saddam back into mideval times. So he can't be a threat, can he?
So I guess, somebody isn't telling the truth. And I'm not talking about Saddam.
Plus, Iraq does disarm. And if I were Saddam, I wouldn't disarm faster than he does, because the USA already told the world, they would attack him. No matter what. So, if Saddam disarms, he is going to be overthrown by the US because he can't defend. (The first US forces are already in Iraq.)
That's a problem for him.
Of course, I think, it is necessary to keep the pressure up, but I don't think war is the only solution to the problem. (But I do also disagree with my gouvernment: Doing nothing is no solution, either.)
So, well...
My conclusion:
Saddam has to disarm. He is disarming. Slowly, but he is.
So war is not an option at the moment. (Especially not an war for oil.)
Therefore, if the United States of America feel they have to attack Iraq without the consent of the UN, they're breaking international laws.
If they do so, they might become guilty of state terrorism, and therefore, could be disarmed compleatly by the UN for being a threat to world peace.
(I guess Iraq would ask the UN to do that...)
So, best would be to be patient. Give the Iraq a deadline, and he will disarm, if there is enough time. (Having a deadline within a week is not fair.)
Well, that was my humble opinion.
Feel free to lay into me...

P.S.: I forgot to explain why Germany isn't in favour of a war, anyway:
The German constitution, which was worked out on behalf of the US, UK and France in 1949 (after WW II ), states in article 26
"Acts tending to and undertaken with intent to disturb the peaceful relations
between nations, especially to prepare for a war of aggression, shall be
unconstitutional. They shall be made a criminal offense."
And other laws say that for preparing a war, you go to jail for the rest of your life.
The only thing I don't understand is that two nations which made Germany to include article 26 into our constitution for a very good reason are now so keen on going to war. I so totally don't understand that.
Maybe, someone could kindly explain that to me? _________________ Make me happy.
