Well this isn't so much of a hack, as an in interesting use of the xmlrpc interface.

Basically, I have written a J2ME midlet so that you can post new entries to a b2 website via a java enabled mobile phone.

Currently I have only implemented the b2.newPost method, and it only posts to category 1, but it _is_ a first version Smile

If you want to read more about it or to download it, visit my web site http://www.vurt.co.uk/archives/cat/5/software/

I don't know if this will be of much uyse to anyone apart from me, but I thought you might want to hear about it.

Well, that's it really. When I get time I'll enhance to it use more of the available xmlrpc method and to make it a bit nicer to use.

Yep, the Nokia 7210 is java enabled.

You should be able to point your WAP browser at http://www.vurt.co.uk/midlet/blog.jad and the phone should start downloading the app.

I tried the above url on my Nokia 7650. It loaded the .jad file and I confirmed when asked if I wanted to install the app. It downloaded the jar file, but then I got an error message saying:

File '' is corrupted!

Looking forward to newer versions, as I'd love to blog from my phone! Even at the ridiculous prices Vodafone charge for GPRS..

Donncha.

Hmm, I must admit that I haven't actually tried downloading it from my website; I used a cable conenction between my PC and phone.

At first glance, I suspect it may be a mime type issue. I'll have to ask my hosting company if they can add the jar mime type to the web server.

it's not possible to use the blogger-xmlrpc interface to edit/view comments, right? is there a way to get by this by creating a b2comments WAP page?

yup...i also d/led it to my 6610 but got some kind of error when i tried to open it. i'm currently using wapblogger but i would LOVE to have a nifty java app instead.

keep it up! Smile
