Hi there!

Let me introduce you to b2evolution

It's a fork based on b2 0.6.1 I started a few weeks ago, in the middle of when we were all wondering if b2 was gonna die...

Lately, we had a couple of releases from different sources, but still, you might be interested in b2evolution! Check out the features! You're not gonna get those anywhere else!

Some key features:
  • Sub-categories
  • Multiple categories
  • Multiple blogs
  • View last comments
  • comments, trackbacks and pingbacks sorted chronologically on same page
  • Statistics
  • And a lot more!


All that is working (see a demo). I haven't decided yet on a release date, but in the meantime, beta-testers are welcome!

Drop me a line and I'll mail you a beta!

Yes I will definitely provide an upgrade script since I am myself running original b2 blogs on different sites and I need to upgrade them all.

I have only delayed this script until the new database schema gets stable, but you can count ont it!

In the meantime, wanna beta test it?

Well it doesn't look pretty (design wise) but I want subcategories! Too bad I'm too lazy to beta test too though.

Hi Chris,

As you know, the blog is just a template which design can be easily changed.

I am thinking about including some alternative designs in the release package as a demo. Would you be willing to let me use your own blog design for that purpose? (whith whatever full credit you want me to write on it of course) ?

Michael,

Private entries are supported by default by the b2evo-core.
This is actually closely related to drafts and password protected posts.

The only reason I haven't activated it yet in the UI is because it's a bit tricky regarding trackback, pingback and blog pings. I still have to decide exactly what to ping and when

But it's definitely gonna be there soon
