Well, I can only advertise my host, www.positivefusion.info
The service is the best I've ever had from a webhost, and Indigo is very responsive and attentive to customers' ideas. |

I've had good luck with host4students.com
Every so often the site will go down, but that's a rare thing. And when it does happen, it's not for very long.

^-^ Cyberpixels does it for me. they seem to be the best allaround: cheap prices that someone like me can afford , VERY good support, use cpanel, well how about you go check them out yourself. they have a helpdesk where you can submit a ticket if you need help with something, although this may take a while the level of urgency helps. http://cyberpixels.com |

I would have to send up a big 'nay' towards Cyberpixels -- I was with them for over a year, and dealt with the occasional downtime like it was no big problem. I spent alot of time on their forums offering support, answering questions, and defending the company against the people who went around bashing them. I did this because I really loved the company and thought that they were worth it.
Three months ago, they moved my site (and all the other sites on my server) to a new server without telling any of us, then they suspended my account a week later without giving me a reason, ignored my help desk tickets and e-mails, and continued to charge my credit card even after I moved my site and requested my account cancelled. When I moved my website to the new hosts, I tried to restore my site from backups, and found that while the main ones worked fine, the SQL backups were corrupt, and I lost over 600 posts in my blog. Cyberpixels was great for me for a year, but I'm still trying to clean up the wreck they left behind. At this point, I wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy. _________________ ~^Rickie Beth^~

if you need a good host, just talk to me. You get your own space, you're the admin. We can help you if you need it, but besides that, everything's up to you. We're working on the site right now, but just talk to me if you want to know the plans we have.
By the way, downtime is a rarity. _________________ Mick

I suggest ipowerweb.com as I host dolled-up.com there and they offer a 30GB bandwidth for an incredible price (not to mention a lot of space). They've been excellent thus far.
For my personally owned server (if you're looking to for dedicated servers, I don't know), I use hostgenie.com.
Good luck!! _________________ "That which you do not risk leaves you risking so much more."

I used ipowerweb for 10months. The last 2 months was hell. SQL down, cPanel wouldn't update (bandwidth meter, etc) and too much downtime.
I don't know how they are now, but I wouldn't go back.
You get what you pay for, I guess. |
