I think that some of the forums should be closed for posting, since b2 is no longer being developed. Feature Requests is one such forum that should be closed, or maybe deleted. Hacks should stay open, as people may still use b2, and they may still want hacks. The Bugs forum could be closed too. Also, in this forum I see many people asking if b2 is still in development. There is no official announcement in the announcement forum from Michael that development is finished, and that WordPress is the "official" fork, but it seems to be the case. I think if these suggestions were implemented, it would go a long way in eliminating confusion.

Wordpress is great by the way. I am in no way dissing Michael, or b2, because b2 is great as well. Wordpress just builds on b2's greatness.

I agree with you on the other parts. I have opinions of my own about all of this, and I'm in no position to tell (probably because it wouldn't change anything).
