Hi!
Well, b2 is now WordPress.
It was actually taken over by the WordPress dev crew.
So I guess that all patches for b2 are implemented.
But since a lot of the script has been rewritten, quite a number of mods/hacks won't work any longer.
And wasn't there a b2 copy still available at sourceforge? *searching
Oups, no, they took it down since wp 1.0 is out...
So, I guess you should simply use wp...
(It's easy to upgrade...)

Yea, but how can you call something "this is the same" when it's patches and such don't work! Bah!

Anyway, I appreciate the info, and yea, I was lucky enough to A - find a b2 mirror, and B - find that Mister44 still has his .6.2.1+LJ Update dl still up....
I'd love to just "simply use wp" - but alot of my time has been put into learning b2 - and being a designer and NOT a codeboy- that kinda means it takes me up to 3 times lOnGer to learn something - thus I kinda get attached
Also, like. LJ update. I talked to the nice Matt Saxx or yea, and he said "no one really seemed to care" about cloning. Bhad! All that lovely work Mister44 put into his copy - goes to b2 only, and YABBOB - soo - if I want that functionality I've come to love- I - just deal with the loss? That doesn't sound like a good converstion to me  Also, since you seem to be so familiar with the conversion, what about template / email entry conversion? How hard is that to convert? I know if there is a convert file that changes me over I'd be set and all - but - like - what of my template designs? If I'm depending on b2 structure, and WP doesn't actually use that... I don't know on the template info - so I appreciate any info you have. As for converting, unless the lj stuff is ever addressed, and the templating system is similar / as easy to pick at least - I'll stick with b2 till I am totally just at a loss and in need of upgrading
What I wanna know - did Epolady ever convert?

Hi!
I haven't got much time, so I'll give only a few short answers:
a) wordpress's template tags are nearly the same as b2's. (The archive tags have changed a little afaik, and the first line of code you'll have to enter into your template. Not sure about that faqmous b2-loop where it says heaven will fall on your head if you delete it - but you'll find out by simply looking into wp's default template, and you'll know.)
b) I don't know what that LJ Update actually is, but it's not the dev teams responsibility to change third party scripts/add-ons.
Just e-mail the author and ask him...

Well, the new V 1.0 swwms to have several bugs.
If you don't fix them by yourself, you should wait for 1.0.1, which is to be released quite soon.

Tiger, what do you call soon?
I'm looking for a bloggingtool, again
And came to B2 as I had some experience with it before, but now I want WordPress
But ofcource, as bug-free as possible, hahaa
When do you think it'll be out?
My domain has bene up for 2 days, and I haven't anything on it, kinda want to start, if school lets me that is
Another qestion, is WordPress better then B2Evelutions?
Has it more/better features? 'cause saw some nice things on theit list

No, straight to the point is totally appreciated, and probably also receprecated haha. So yea - all good.
Tags - awesome.
The third party guy - is a no go. He's just not interested in WP at all.
So yea. I'm VERY Happy to have gotten 6.2.yea up and running, and will await a little bit longer to see the future.

Hi!
Well, nobody knows.
But there is a list of known bugs and their fixes on the wp docu wiki:

So you could even correct it yourself.
Plus there are already some fixes in the CVS, so you could download via cvs (http://wiki.wordpress.org/index.php/CvsTortoise ) or nightly built (http://wordpress.org/development/archives/66/ ). (Though they might not always work.)
But the dev team is usually quite fast on fixing stuff...
(...and a lot of people seem to use the v 1.0 already without problems, so you could even download it right now: http://wordpress.org/download/ )
I don't know b2evolution - all I know is it supports multiple blogs with one installation.
Plus wp is more focused on valid code and pro features, while b2evolution seems to be more focused on fun.
But then again, b2 is now officially wp...

P.S.: @XianghuaALPHA: You might also ask on the wp support board if somebody knows about whatever you are using or wether somebody could "port" it to wp...

Yea, that's true.... I haven't given up all hope, and yea, the more I read the more inticing WP could really be. Thanks again for the info!
