According to the W3C HTML 4.01 Recommendation:
Quote:
ID and NAME tokens must begin with a letter ([A-Za-z]) and may be followed by any number of letters, digits ([0-9]), hyphens ("-"), underscores ("_"), colons (":"), and periods (".").

Also, according to the XHTML 1.0 Recommendation (an extension of the HTML 4.01 rec.):
Quote:
Note that in XHTML 1.0, the name attribute ... is formally deprecated, and will be removed in a subsequent version of XHTML.

The permalink_anchor(), permalink_link(), and permalink_single() funtions all use or refer to a fragment identifier beginning with a number by default. This behavior is modifiable with a function argument to permalink_anchor(); however, permalink_anchor() uses the deprecated name attribute.

To be compliant with (X)HTML specifications, the aforementioned functions (and possibly others) should be modified to use an id attribute that does not contain a value beginning with a number.

Thank you!

You can use WordPress, which is fully XHTML 1.1 compliant.

Seems decent. I'll give it a try.

I never cared much for the way that b2 doesn't use templates. Seems like it would make it a pain in the kiesta to update if you've made modifications to certain files.

Also, congrats to them, for the WordPress website degrades very nicely when the style sheets are disabled.
