This was an idea inspired by the b2stats hack. For the simpler folk who simply want to output the total number of posts and/or comments.

It's not really a hack, as much as a small add-on script.

You can see the script in action at http://euphonism.net ~
Look for wherer it says (#) Posts :: (#) Comments.
That's all it does. It's simple, but useful and fun xD

To download the zip, right click and select "Save As...":

Ah very cool, that's a useful mini stat thing. It took me awhile to completely fix my b2stats.php page, it's a pain to customize but the ministat seems pretty easy Smile

Yay, I'm happy with the feedback. I was afraid that no one would use it. Also, it's good that it's working for everyone. I had an odd suspicion there would be a million problems. For some reason I thought the Read Me file was hard to understand. If it was, please tell me and I'l re-write it.

Ehh..
If you take a look at http://www.Sigg3.net you'll see (beneath the last post (on the byline there): post number 244 by... which is the in-system command known as <?php the_ID() ?>.

On your top right, below the sign "QUICKIES" you'll see your own, b2ministats, script - and you'll probably notice that this counter says that the number of posts is 232, which is wrong. Now, I really want to use that script, but if it is wrong - why should I?

This is really embarassing. My latest post is 244, something the reader might notice, then - the reader continous to notice - my big (b2ministat enhanced) box on my top-right saying: 233 posts, 148 comments. This leaves me to not trust the b2ministats script on account of posts, but why - oh why - make a count-post script that doesn't count correctly?

ok, I have a question with this, it may be a really dumb question but anyhow...
I just started b2 yesterday, I used this hack, but then had to delete a post...
it says 1 post (which it should), but then it says 2 comments (when I have none now)... how can I get the comments to 0???

I kept the comments-count (pretty hidden now) but deleted the post count.. sorry!

I have noticed that the hack includes all entries, deleted or not. I don't have a problem with it, but for those who's post counts are incorrect... that may be why.
