Hi, I am new to this, and am having some problems Sad

I uploaded the files into my folder, installed my database, and chmod those 2 files it said I could. Then when I opened b2install.php, I got the following error:

Can't connect to the database
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)

Do you know what the problem may be? And also does it matter which mode I upload it in? Binary, Auto, or Ascii?? I uploaded it in Auto. If thats wrong, its an easy fix.

I don't think it has anything to do with which mode you upload your files in, you need a MySQL database and for that, you must be hosted by a domain or own your own. If you're using something like geocities, it won't work. To get a MySQL database, either ask your host (if you're hosted) or log into your control panel Smile
