It makes you keep track of other bloggers using your post in their blog. The problem about this is that alot of people don't know what it's for, so they don't use it properly, making it pointless.
I don't use pingback or trackback at my own site just yet.

i dont use trackbacks or pingbacks. i stick the regular old comments i never really learned about tb's or pb's.. oh well! i dont really hve a use anyway..

Well, I think they are pretty awesome tools. If someone wants to link to a post of your, they use pingback or trackback (can't remember) and do it right.
I don't have that many readers with homepages of their own, tho, so I can't find the big use for it.

Every t ime I try to read the readme I get a headache. It assumes that everyone understands PHP and knows what they're doing. I use b2 because that's what my webhost offers and I'm generally satisfied with it. I will NEVER go back to Moveable Type, for a number of reasons, but I do wish b2 was a little more dummy-friendly. More buttons and menus.
As for trackbacks and pingbacks, I have only a vague idea what they are and I've never found an explanation that really helps. |
