I look like a baby in terms of making online journal entries here Smile

I only started in march 2003 when I saw a friend using Blogger.
I joined the same day and started posting.
And one fine day last month, Blogger switched its interface to a more browser compatible one and I don't know why, it stopped uploading files to my server for no apparent reason
Cried, I shouted... Did not do well for a week or so, I was not blogging. As all the crap I yelled out in my Blog stayed in my mind...
Then I did what I usually do when I am in search for a software solution.
Went to http://sourceforge.net/ and searched for a PHP based Blog solution as my server supported it. And I found B2.

Thats about it... I still have no clue how to import my old Blogger enteries to my cafelog (though i saw somewhere there was something called API for doing it). I had the old HTML generated files and I linked those to my B2 named as Dead Blog[er]. Anyhelp on this front will be appreciated Very Happy

I was tired of always having to open my index page, and write some and upload it...

I thought my host used greymatter, but once she commented on her own blog, I found out she used b2, and thats how I found out...

I found b2 a year ago. I found it out through a website that used b2 and then I went to b2's website: cafelog.com. But I didn't understand what PHP and mySQL are till I saw more web hosts offering both, then I grabbed the chance to install b2 with PHP and mySQL compliant web host after figuring how to use PHP a bit. The rest became history.

I ran across it from a link that my school pasted on one of their pages that talked about how to set up a website on your account. Once I got my own hosting I decided to set up a blog and I've been super happy with it. Very Happy

If you haven't already installed b2, I advise you look into WordPress or b2evo instead as b2 is dead.

I knew of blogging, and didn't have any software I'd trust / heard of that I could really get into. Greymatter was tempting, but eh. A code boy / soon to be programmer for us, http://boredwithporn.org]Sean told us about a potential solution for our blogging needs being at 'cafelog.com' - and thus, we arrived, I surveyed, had it installed up - and have been using it ever since. Just waiting for Mr V. to get a new solution though, as this one is not being supported anymore Sad

I'd used blogger.com for a long time and stumbled over it while searching for blog-services and such. I immediately ordered a MySQL db and installed it. After that, I've been one happy man:)
