The page for my categories is http://x.randomness.nu/photoblog/categories.php, and the code i included in my php file is this:

but when you click the categories, nothing happens. can someone help me please? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks :] |

By having the b2-loop (or rather _a_ b2loop) at categories.php makes the script think your blog is categories.php..
You don't need or should not include the b2-loop. The loop is for the post themselves, nothing else.
Remove:
<!-- // b2 loop start -->
<?php while($row = mysql_fetch_object($result)) { start_b2(); ?>
and
<!-- // this is just the end of the motor - don't touch that line either -->
<?php } ?>
But ensure to have this line before <HEAD> (at the top of the php file):
<?php /* Don't remove this line, it calls the b2 function files ! */ $blog=1; include ("blog.header.php"); ?>
