There's a great new hack by Michael H.P which lets you block the commenter's IP adress, called b2blacklist.
http://www.michaelpark.net/b2hacks/blacklist.txt
In addition, you could do as I did a month ago, which is changing the name of b2comments.post.php to something entirely different (remember to change the references in b2comments.php and b2commentspopup.php) which at least reduces the amount of spam. It doesn't solve the problem permanently, though.
I've changed b2comments.post.php's name three times, and the amount of spam has been reduced from 10-15 spamcomments a day to about 1-3 in every three day.... So, it's a general improvement if nothing.. _________________ Sigg3 dot net - because you're worth it! | b2 Cafelog Resource Center | Get Firefox NOW! |

I can already block IP addresses but that doesn't seem to help much. No matter how many spammers you ban there's always more. What would be ideal for me is if there was a way to turn off comments in archived posts or in posts older than a specified number of days. Yes, I've asked for this before and I know I'm probably being very annoying but I'm going to keep asking until I get it. |

Thanks. I found it. Looks scary. I haven't fooled around with PHP very much I'll try to work up the courage to give it a try. |
