b2 is now WordPress.

Get all the details here.
Oh, and yes, Michel, the developer of b2, changed blogs himself.

Regards,
Christian
P.S.: There's a German website, too. Smile

I encourage _new_ users to use WordPress, but since I installed b2 in July 2003 I've done so many changes to it that I don't want to loose its customized feeling. It's like a good car. Why drop it for another model?

Users familiar with b2 and trusting it, having used it for a long time, will have to decide for themselves.

On "my" b2CRC page, I also encourage _new_ users to use WordPress, even though _new_ WordPress users have been known to switch to b2. Why? Various reasons.

My point is that this community, allthough not as kickin' as it used to be, is still alive. b2 is not dead.

Well, it is certainly true that it is hard to switch once you "hacked" b2 and a lot of people won't do it, especially those loving the original look and feel of b2. But I belive it might become risky in terms of security to trust a product which is not really looked after, don't you?

Anyway: WordPress certainly does support most of the b2 hacks either out-of-the-box or by using a WordPress plug-in.

So I believe it's worth switching, even though you loose that unique b2-feeling. Why don't you try to save your database and try converting offline? If it goes totally wrong, you know and won't have to try online... Smile

Regards,
Christian

Ah:)
I didn't mean to imply that I have something against WordPress. The only thing I oppose is the myth that b2 is dead, because it isn't. Not because it's better or worse than WordPress, but because several hosts are using it as their default blogware.
