Is there a way of blacklisting certain words aswell? I'm being spammed right now with casino, roulette and poker spams and they come from different IP's all the time.. |

Huh??? |
There are numerous lists (like spampost.com) of "blacklisted" spamming IPs. Is it a way to make blacklist/b2 correspond with such a list of updating IPs, you think? _________________ VOTE for Female of the Year 2004 NOW! |

Also, when I go to the spam comment in the b2edit screen and click on Ban & Delete, it brings me back to the entry itself, and when I check, the comment isnt deleated, and hasnt been banned. (that is really no problem, just wanted to report it)

I am having the same problem. Help please?? |

Those "filteration" sites don't use IPs but complex algorithms to filter contents of e-mails. Their use of IPs is only to see if the servers associated with those IPs have been reported as sending SPAMs. This is as same as blocking an entire network from your site.
The MT-Blacklist blocks URLs, not IPs. _________________ Michael P.

Code: |
//CHANGELOG
//
//0.7.8: Now block URLs -- one URL per IP
// -- added a new field to the database;
// -- updated steps: 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6
// Replace the entire contents of your "b2blacklist.php" file.

Nope, I didn't implement it since I didn't get a good response. _________________ Michael P.

Hi Michael,
Sorry I havent been here before.
About the option to block Subnet routes.
It is a bonus, but I personally would not use it, in fear of blocking regular visitors.
I think blocking certain spam words is a much better option. (see "How to avert SPAM bots" thread)
Does that help at all? Thanks for all that you do Michael!

Yes, I did- BUT I haven't gotten any spam lately so hopefully I won't need to use it! *keeps my fingers crossed!* |

That wouldn't be good on/for the database. I tried to lessen the load as much as possible. _________________ Michael P.

Would List All Comments http://cafelog.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=5893 be any use? |

Yes it is but I dream I could automatically blacklist them in addition to delete them. _________________ Olivier |
