When setting the date I used the format: D. jS F, Y

Now, for some reason the month only comes up as J rather than January. I tried removing the comma to see if that would work, but it didn't. What's going on?

I use <?php the_date("l, F jS Y"); ?>
coming out like this: Friday, January 7th 2005

If there's nothing wrong with the variables, there's probably something strange about the php version of your server..?

No matter what thing I use for the month.. it always comes out 'J'. It's driving me nuts.
