I'd like to lock down a blog so that only those that enter an assigned password can view the entries. I've already disabled comments but can't figure out how to require a password to even view the blog.

Your help is much appreciated.

You could use the private post hack, but you'd have to alter it to include ALL posts (if that's whatcha want).

Or simply move the blog to /secret/ folder and set the .htaccess to require a password.. Very Happy

I've read other posts on how some just want to exclude or hide certain categories of posts.

I'd like my entire blog to either be viewable to all or nobody via password.

My apologies for what is probably a very simple request. My wife is the web designer in our family.

Can you post a screenshot or what portion of the .htaccess file I would need to change.

Take a look at http://www.ourchinaadoption.com/elenbaasjournal for an idea of what we would like to do.

Thanks,

Mark

I set my cute ftp to -a to show the .htaccess but all I see in the b2 directory is example.htaccess

Can someone help with adding in users as suggested in the initial reply.

If you can't see it and you've configured your client properly you don't have a .htaccess file.

Read more on it: http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml
