Hey all!

I admit I'm a total newbie to all of this php stuff. The hosting company I use (ipowerweb) provides b2 for us to use, and I've got the blog up and running.

I've had to take it down a few times due to the overwhelming amounts of spam in the comment field.

My question is, is there a way to configure b2 to not allow comments at all? I'm in the military, and i'm about to deploy back overseas. I plan to use b2 to post daily "what is going on" articles for family and friends back home. I don't want anybody to leave comments, I'd rather they just email me. Overseas getting on the internet will be iffy at best, and I'd rather spend the little time I have on the internet posting artcles and not weeding out spam.

Is it possible to do this, or is the comments a part of the program?

Yup.
Open your favourite FTP client (e.g. CuteFTP or WS_Ftp or you might do it online too) and find the file config.php.

Then you just scroll down to somewhere it says "users can leave comments" or something, set the 1 to 0 and whoa!
