As the topic states, how did you find b2, one of the best free webbloging software? Most I would assume found it in hotscripts.com searching for a php blog. Well, I found it in some messageboard (digitalrice.com) where someone had a topic of which blogging software you use. I click the cafelog.com link and here I am! |

I really liked Greymatter, and had a friend working on a PHP/MySQL clone of it (PHPj). About half way through his project, someone pointed out that it had "already been done" and linked b2. (or I think that's how the story went). He still carried PHPj to beta 1, but then became caught up with school work.
Thus, I was led to b2, and thus I use b2. _________________ --Dan |

Well, I still remember months ago I was looking for a really good blogging tool. Then I came to know of b2, and I got hosted by Michel and started using b2 ever since then. |

I was using greymatter but after a year or so of blogging redesigning my site became a big load on the webserver since it builds all the static pages. I went to hotscripts in search of something that used php/MySQL & I found b2
lucky for me the next week michel put together the script to convert gm > b2 |

I was reading a forum board and saw a link...
I started on Blogger, then GM now I'm on MT as I learn B2. Looks like an excellent program so far. _________________ Sara

A friend of mine SmikWily was using it on his site, I asked him which script he was using, and he said B2...
Before that I wrote my own news article script. In retrospect, you could have called it a multi-user blog script, albeit very kludged _________________

Its a longgggg story how i found out about B2.
I did use netbuilder but he stopped development and whats the point keepin on with something that wont go anywhere eh?
then i used php nuke and it restricted me too much and was crowded in the admin sections.
then i used blogger for a bit but you didnt have much power ova the code and i didnt like the way you gotta use thier server.
So i then got a new site and I used the gamespys own script, eventually when the site reached its peak the system just couldnt handle the workload so i wanted to change... gamespy said you change it we will slap your wrist. so i closed the site :) they only lost a couple of millions of hits a month.. hehehhe
So then i found B2. and will neva look bak.lol |

I discovered blogging services/programs in general when I went to check out an indie band's site... at the bottom, they had a Blogger.com button. I saw it and went, "WHOAH!" 'cause I'd been doing blog updates manually on my site.
I've worked as an html coder and designer for years and always thought someone should write one of these... I just didn't know what it was called so I wasn't able to search for it =P
So, I used Blogger for a while and then switched to Greymatter. I post a lot, though, and am quite impatient and the whole 'rebuilding' thing seemed like total cheese to me. I did a search for a MySQL blogging tool and found b2 listed in some guy's Blog links page.
b2 rocks =) Thank you, michel! As soon as I get a job, I'm getting you something from your wishlist =P |

I was originally using Greymatter. A few nights ago, I was trying to make my site XHTML 1.0 complaint, and stumbled upon a problem. Greymatter automatically inserts upper case tags. I looked around and tried to change the CGI coding. I kept getting 500 errors so I just gave up and searched for a different weblog script.
Looked around, and one of the sites I stumbled upon was cafelog.com I tried it, loved it, so I'm gonna keep using it |
