There's been a problem with the forums, and all timestamps have suddenly be set to 1-1-1970, which wouldn't have been a problem if the order of the posts in the threads had remained the same. Unfortunately, it wasn't so: threads were damaged beyond all fix.
So I re-installed the forums from scratch, using an up-to-date version of phpBB2 as opposed to the previous, buggy, old CVS version.
User accounts have been manually transfered, so you shouldn't have to register again.
Soon I'll re-upload the old forums somewhere on this site to keep an archive of old posts. But with the posts and threads being so mangled it's very hard to read them, so I will eventually doctor the posts and threads a bit in order for them to gain their previous order back.
If you posted threads recently, and didn't have your questions answered or your problems fixed, please post them again. |

Right. Some topics got a great deal of play. For example, how you can create a page for each category in blog.
Hopefully, some of that material can be selectively recovered.
I know that ver .52 will bring some changes, but it seems to me that some of the older forums will still have some very relevant stuff.
But whatever, right. If the topics come up again, I'm sure the information will also come up again.
Best to all,
TJH |

Hi there,
This whole thread is very old, but to answer your question, WordPress is the official branch of b2. Based on the same coding, but has more features. b2 isn't being developed future, hence the big push to get everyone to use WordPress. It's feature packed and plenty of features to come. Check it out.
p.s. If you're new to b2, I'd highly suggest moving to WordPress. _________________ No more support from me. Goodbye!
Go upgrade to WordPress, you'll find better support there. |

Funny how old threads pop-up after 9 months... _________________ http://www.viper007bond.com
If you haven't already installed b2, I advise you look into WordPress or b2evo instead as b2 is dead. |
