i see that there are both blogger and GM import utilities, but i don't see one for MT?

could i just make an MT template that creates a text file and import it with phpmyadmin? i'm quite a newbie at this, and that scares me.

Yeah, seems like you could make an MT template that would display like Blogger, rename the files like Blogger does, and then use the Blogger import utility to get the posts into b2.

Or maybe Michel could work something out that's cooler =)

well, if it's anywhere near the coolness of the GM import utility, i'll just wait. damn. that was cool. i still have some GM blogs out there, and the conversion process? coolest thing i've ever seen.

I'm going to have a look at how MT accesses the DBM files that it uses, and then I'll check how I can access them through PHP... or I'll learn some Perl and do a conversion utility in Perl.

cool! thanks. looking at how the blogger import thing worked, though, it seems it would be fairly easy to make MT generate a monthly archive template, rename the files, and pretend it's blogger entries. ooh -- except the comments. it wouldn't get those, now, would it?

ok, well thanks. i spent part of my day to day importing blogger and GM sites with b2, just for fun...

Michel,

Have you made any progress with this yet? I have almost 1,000 entries in MT and I'm not planning on going back to it, ever. Would love to have them in b2. Smile Point me in the right direction if there is a thread about this already, thanks!

I just linked to them. I took all the archives in MT and made it a .php file. Then, all the comments are there. I still have MT on my server, I'm just accessing the files by linking.

Take a look~ www.simplysara.com/blog/ I called them into my sidebar under the MT Archives heading. I think they are on the left sidebar.
