|
|
As I'm digging through the forum anyway I've taken it upon me to create a central script repository for b2 hacks, mods, templates, tips and tricks.
Each script added is tested. For each script there is an online demo or, if the script involves admin/upload functions, one or more screenshots (usually as provided by the script author).
Each script, whether it was originally posted as a file or text, is downloadable as a zip file. To not steal anybody's bandwidth the files are located on my own server.
Each script is updated to reflect the latest bug fixes and tricks.
Each script has a text instructions file added if one was missing.
Where a script lacked a copyright notice one has been provided in an additional text file, reading:
Quote: | COPYRIGHT author @ authors-domain.com
Stanford University Library @ http://fairuse.stanford.edu/library/faq.html:
"Currently, the author's rights begin when a work is created. Copyrighted works are not limited to those that bear a copyright notice."
In short: if you didn't author this file you are not the copyright holder. By default all rights are reserved.

Each script entry has a link to the relevant thread on the board here.
A handful of the scripts here are now online while I'll keep adding over the weekend. Just wanted to get this out already in case there is major opposition, authors would like to see their script removed from the site, and of course for general input and ideas.
You can find the site at http://www.dawolfden.com

Great idea and done well.
I'll be visiting at the weekend as I'll be working on plugin support for b2++!

I guess that's something to implement: an upload area for authors.
The local forum has been removed and each script entry now contains a link to the relevant thread on the board here.
I'll be looking into a rating system for script entries later on.

Update:
I've added a Rate This script into the site. If you use one or more of the b2 hacks, please take a moment to express your opinion about it on dawolfden.com so new users will have an idea what's useful and what's not.

|
|
Because of the darn antileeching scripting, a simple wget or even lynx doesn't work.
This is truly annoying, since I can't log into the shell, get the files, unpack and go... I have to download then locally, then upload again...
Is it that critical to need anti-leech scripting? |

What hack does the mouseover popups? I thought Joseph's would do it, but it doesn't.
Nifty feature... but I don't see what you are using to make those??? |

It's listed on the Hacks In Place page.
It's a DHTML script by Erik Bosrup called OverLIB.
Some pop-ups on links are simply done by using the TITLE tag. Like:
Code: | <a href="http://yourdomain.com" title="This is a link"> |
