There will be. I didn't include that in the pre-release of 0.6, but I might include that for the release.
Mind you, there's no user-interface for that feature, so you'd have to find your way through the code to add smileys and other stuff.

I just discovered b2. It is great. I plan to convert my site this week! I have a question/concern about converting html entities. The current implementation does not get “ and ” correctly. I imagine other codes might not work either.

Eric, I lowered the ASCII conversion limit from #160 to #130, and now MSWindows-specific characters (those between #130 and #159) will display alright in b2

Michael, my issue is with #8220 and #8221 and others referenced in the alistapart article. I use these quote tags to generate the look I want.

Then you'll be happy. I finished fixing stuff, and now these characters display right. Even if you paste them from MSWord, they display as “ etc instead of “ (oddly enough, I found the solution to this in an old Lynx mailing list archived post).
